Panama City

Since there weren't any line handling jobs around, we took a taxi into Colon where we were rushed aboard a luxury coach bus that took us to Panama City. The taxi wasn't cheap but the bus was only about $3.10 each. Nice! Then we took another taxi to our hotel.

Shelter Bay Marina

Although Shelter Bay Marina is only 20 miles from Portobelo we wanted to stop and check out an anchorage we read about in the guide book at two small islands for possible future stays.

East Lemons & Portobelo

Our final anchorage in Kuna Yala with my parents, Marilyn & Gary was the East Lemon Cays. There was plenty of wind but also sun, so we enjoyed watching the kite surfers and going ashore to a couple of the islands.

Boating Tips

Windscoop ventilation

While at anchor you have many options to get air moving through the boat and thus make life comfortable. You install many fans which use power or take advantage of what is already there, wind and you don't even need much.
